Riding Three Times

Today started where we left off – trying to get our original Brand Ambassador to do his job.

With a combination of bad lighting and Lambie, the unhelpful sheep, we pretty much failed.  This is the best of a very bad job from Lambie’s turn.

Edna was around and she wandered up and looked lovely. I adore this one of her.  She is such a special lady.

I will try again with Lambie tomorrow. You never know. He might find his inner film-star other wise he may get the sack.

Having exhausted the photoshoot potential, I went riding.  First up was Iacs accompanying Efstur, then Klængur who went out with Taktur (it was fast and great fun) and lastly a sedate walk for Haakon around the school.

(These are photos from yesterday – I asked Daisy to ride Haakon for me. It is always good to get a second opinion and I value her judgement very much).

I have decided to try and ride Haakon almost daily, for ten minutes, just in walk to a) give him something to do and b) to stop him seizing up.  He is much healthier this year and feels very nice to ride.  Last year, he could barely move. Well, that’s the plan.  He is also much happier now his teeth are sorted.

I adore these three.  They are the very best.  It was a good day. I shall sleep well tonight.

Brand Ambassadors

I received an email at lunchtime from The Golden Paste Company asking for a Christmassy picture of Lambie, or one of the team, with their products for promotional publicity.

Having met Lambie this morning, I knew immediately he was out. He has other things on his tiny pea-like brain – Edna and Madge.

So, Daisy and I looked around for another Brand Ambassador – Her Maj.  I brushed, while Daisy located her vast wardrobe.  We carefully chose a beautiful Christmas outfit and were surprised she still fitted into her totally adorable skirt.  BeAnne went into an instant decline.

Meanwhile, Monster was being weird with tinsel.

He sat in BeAnne’s bed under the Christmas tree and he looked quite nice, so we changed our minds again (third model lucky) and asked if he would like the job.

He busied himself while we got our props together.

And we duly decorated the set.

It was a bit fraught at times but we laugh in the face of danger.

Of course, as you know, Monster is a huge fan of absolutely anything BeAnne enjoys – her bed, her food, her photoshoot……

The festive hat, however, was a bit of a non-starter. It showed off the chins!

So now Monster is officially Thordale’s Christmas Face of all things Turmeric.

Reason enough to give it everyone – Use the code LAMBIE10 for your 10% discount brought to  you today by Monster!

And not BeAnne!

I might have a go with Lambie tomorrow. I am not holding my breath, though.  He is in a very silly mood.

Camera Mojo

Yesterday, I lost my camera mojo and took some fairly dreadful photos of the Boyzens coming home from the hill in the evening. The photos were useless.  I wondered if it was me or the camera……

So today, before the rain arrived this afternoon, I took my camera along to see the Minions.  They were all miles away and looking indigenous.

They saw me and came running.

I love Albie in this photo.  He was very “enthusiastic”.

So I happily snapped away and here are a few of the results.

There were strange faces.

Some wild and wacky hair-dos.

“Boys being boys”.

With added playing and annoying.

Today, my prize goes to Waffle who was looking the most gorgeous.  I think my camera and I are singing the same tune now.  Phew!  I hate it when the results are rubbish.

So that’s the next few days’ worth of photos taken care of…… many, many pics to show you!

Perfect Day

A gorgeous day today. A day between weathers, quite literally. Tomorrow is all doom and gloom again.

Obviously we wanted to make the most of the glorious day and so I went in search of my noble steed.

And settled for Iacs (just kidding!)

Daisy was going to ride Efstur outside for the first time in a while, accompanied by me on horseback this time.

Efstur was thrilled. He had been doing his “pick me, pick me” routine all morning trying to catch anyone’s eye to go and do something. He loves his training.

Iacs, on the other hand was slightly less enthusiastic (and, yes, I straightened his noseband – I didn’t clean off the mold, though – a step too far in my book!)

Anyway, off we rode in the lovely warm-ish sunshine.

Noble steed favoured the grass edges – note-to-self, next time I put his hoof-boots on.  Iacs is the perfect horse for letting me drop the reins and take photos.  He has his job. I have mine.

There was no holding back Daisy and Efstur.

They were going great guns.

Lovely long shadows from the winter sunshine.

We met one car and Efstur was perfect so all was good.  We dismounted at the top of our track and walked home so the horses could stretch and have a breather.

For me, this photo sums up all that is Iacs. A scruffy Herbert but much loved.

He was a good boy and his reward for lugging my fat arse there and back was a nice bucket of grub.

And then it was Klængur and Taktur’s turn.   No photos. Klængur is definitely not that type of horse.  Both hands on the wheel at all times!

Not a day for anything

Today has not been a day for doing anything.   No one wants to go out.  It has rained on and off and I feel totally uninspired.

The horses came in for hay and I did manage to move the Minions up to a part of the field they had forgotten about. I took my bag of carrots and they came running, suddenly remembered where we were going, and galloped straight past! So I took my carrots home again and had lunch instead.

Some photos off my phone today…..

Monster and BeAnne sharing their lunchtime snack.  BeAnne is made of wire wool.

Her Maj having her afternoon snooze while I made a sheeple in my shed.

Monster not sharing “his” bed under the Christmas tree.

We booted him out, gave him the heated blanket to sit on, which he adores more than anything, and told BeAnne she could have her bed back.  She then ignored it and played her best Misery Card.

I have given up. Sorry for such a boring blog post but if you were here, you would be stuck for anything nice to say about today.
