Have a little trip around my sheeple shed – they have a beautiful bedroom they could live in, but no, grot is what they love. Who am I to say no?
And they all have their places, where they want to be.
And every day someone fills up two haynets for them pick at as they want. A haynet fairy, perchance?
Madge has come out of herself. One very almost tame sheep. I love this.
And then there is Edna trying to convince me to feed her more when I go into the Feed Shed.
(she has an extra “secret” feed indoors. Tell no one.)
When I think about how Edna and Madge came to us, just over a year ago, then I feel like we did good.
They have integrated well with the Boyzens – not an easy task I can tell you.
Lambie can be unnecessary as well as unforgiving with very little effort – he is one spoilt sheep.
And I never, for one minute, regret my choice to rescue them.
I wish I could take in more. I really do. My heart breaks when I see the ones who need feeding.
Grot has more Sheep cred than the comfy barn. And you did right by Madge and Edna. As for Lambie, like bottle fed kittens, he is spoiled but then he needed that as a wee one.
I, too, wish I could do more good in the world. I think often of the saying, “I can’t do everything, but I can do something. And what I can do, I should do. And what I should do, with the help of God, I will do!”
I like that. I really do. I felt like this today when I was trying to help some wild sheep. I wanted to help more but I had nothing left to give. Thank you Joe. xx You’ve helped put things into perspective.
the girls look truly beautiful. it is hard to believe they are the same sad looking sheep from when they came to you. I wish every animal could have the care you give them.
To paraphrase: you can’t help them all but you changed the world for Madge and Edna. I would love for you to do a movie of you making your felted sheep, it would be most interesting.
