Her Name

Wee-Lamb has a proper name now.

We have named her “Mississippi”, or “Missy” for short.

There is a reason for this.

In our house, whenever BeAnne and Monster meet BeAnne sniffs Monster and if she goes over Monster’s official two Mississippi limit, he thumps her (claws in but a thump none the less!)  We are perpetually telling BeAnne “just two Mississippi’s” because she forgets and then of course wallop!

Little Missy is the same.   She is nosey and curious often out-staying her welcome which results in said animal telling her.  Some are nicer than others.  The ducks waddle off, ‘Lambie rolls her.  She doesn’t seem to mind and goes bouncing back.

Her enthusiasm for everyone is going to get her into trouble.

Hence her name – Mississippi or Missy for short.

Anyway, I managed to photograph her wonderful bouncy-leapy-boing-boing-boing run, that little lambs do. It makes my heart melt.

It is incredibly cute and funny to watch.

So, please, ladles and jellyspoons, let me to introduce you to Mississippi!

Her days may be numbered because she has a death wish when it comes to going through fences to meet the neighbours.

First Orchid

I had the most stonking migraine last night/this morning so I am just getting over that. Today I have spent the day wandering around feeling like I was kicked in the head.

This afternoon, to clear my head, I took BeAnne for a stroll around the fields.

The wild primroses are just about finishing now.  They’ve done very well this Spring.

I think it is because the sheep can’t get them – the bank is too steep.

And now it is the turn of the marsh marigolds to take over.

And I saw my first orchid in the field. That cheered me up and I instantly felt better.

Here is your daily gratuitous Wee-Lamb film and/or photo!

She is very nosey and she’s already nine days old!  She has changed everyone’s lives.

No Selfies

Never ever try to take selfies with any Shetland ponies, ever. I learned this today

(Albie and Newt helping)

Albie doing his bit.

Kisses, obviously.

I am in there….

Somewhere!

No, really I am! Helloooo!

And little Newt.   It was lovely being loved.  Best bit of the day.

Meanwhile in Wee-Lamb World someone has discovered how to jump on their Mum!  Edna is very long suffering.

I have some horses!

Apparently I have some horses.

Despite being besotted with our new addition, every day Floss and I do actually go and see and even spend time with the horses and ponies.

Yes we do!

Brá and Hetja remain good friends.  I wish I could let Sóley and Lilja rejoin them but I noticed Sóley looking for her milk from Lilja, who was very patient and nice about it.  Someone still doesn’t realise the milk bar is CLOSED! I would like to reunite them all soon but don’t want Hetja’s milk to start up again, which is a distinct possibility.

Brá’s skin is slowly clearing up.  After these photos I put some anti-lice stuff on them both as it is that time of year.

Winter coats are falling out in handfuls now but we have sleet/snow and a minus 4 degrees Celsius forecast on Sunday so I am not doing any brushing. Everyone should hang on to their coats if they can. They will need them.

Back in Wee-Lamb World (the current favourite name is still Lambelina), she is bouncing and going boing all over the place.

BeAnne is now accepted by Edna and it was Wee-Lamb who bounced up to say hello.   That is Her Maj’s very worried (not grumpy) face as she was waiting for Edna to pile in, but nothing happened – she just watched her baby make friends with a dog.  I told BeAnne she was my best little girl and she breathed a huge sigh of relief afterwards.

So all well really.

Our Reward for Hard Work

The family broke their collective backs this afternoon clearing up miles of plastic black bale wrap out of on of the fields.  It nearly killed us as there was just so much of it – accumulating over the years (not by us, I hasten to add) and was half buried but we did it.  A horrid task.  They were all super heroes for helping me.

My Painpod is now on full volume and I am swallowing extra TurmOil (turmeric capsules) as I type.  “I ache therefore I am” to misquote René Descartes.

Anywho, if I could, I would nominate my entire family as super heroes for this heroic effort.

As our reward, we allowed ourselves the rest of the afternoon with Little-Herself, aka Lambelina, Arietty, Little-One, Willa, Wee-Lamb, Precious……… (help! we need a name)….. Blossom, Petal, Boing!

She is very much the independent little lady now, happily leaving Mum to run up to anyone she can see.

Her whiskers are pure enchantment.

And the whispy wool on her neck is perfection.

This was her idea of heaven.

Of course we are all her slaves and put on this earth for one job only – to stroke her.

Meanwhile, the “Ugly Sisters” came to have a look to see what all the fuss was about!

We spend lots of time with them all.  No one is left out.

But that little face is to just die for.

I think she already knows this!

Anyway, back to complaining about my poor back.  Please do go and nominate your super-hero on The Golden Paste Company Facebook Page – always worth a punt in my book.
