A nice quiet dogwalk I told myself. That’s what I wanted. Only it wasn’t what I got.

Monster was determined to come too, despite me deciding to go and check the furthest gate at the furthest point of this 45 acre field. It’s a long walk.

Here are the two dots – Pepper was way ahead.

It was a gorgeous clear day and the light was magical.

Monster was on top form. I have never been this far away from home with him.

But he kept up, sort of – yes, I waited so he could always see me and shouted for him so he didn’t lose us.

He was quite easy to see, too, which helped.

I like to think everyone was wearing their Hi-Vis!

Once the gate had been checked – it has been known to open after a storm and everyone could go out into the hill if they could be arsed.

I checked the horses too.

And we finally reached the home field gate. I knew Monster would struggle here, though he could’ve cheated and gone home via the garden, which would’ve been much drier.

He had a few “ew, mud” moments.

But he worked out the best route, like all of us do – aim for the grassy tussocks and pray hard.

Someone will sleep well tonight. That was a long walk for a cat.

Every now and then The Gentleman of the Feline House must walk the boundaries and then sleep like a small kitten before awakening with a mighty hunger. Nice Hi Viz on everyone.
Once again, lovely photos. Glad Monster managed the long walk. We had a cat that liked to come with us for walks but then found it was just too far. I don’t think cats can walk as far as dogs.
Lovely skyscapes again. Today I got my ceiling skyscape finished. At last we had the sort of sky outside I’ve been waiting for, blue patches and masses of different kinds of cloud. Later there was a rainbow and I hesitated about galloping downstairs for my paints again. Alas, it was too fleeting but I had a good look at it and realised that you need to have very thin paints that can run into each other. I decided it might be better not to risk it, not on a ceiling, anyway. (It’s a small sloping ceiling following the inside of the roofline.)
Monster is amazing!
And we all know, a tired dog, (or cat) is a good dog.
I can’t believe your cat would walk that long distance with you. It’s incredible to me. He’s like a dog.
You have some very special animals, thank you so much for sharing them with us
Amazing how pristine Monster is after such a long, potentially filthy walk.
I’m so glad you chose Monster.
