Bergli Stud have had another shetland pony foal.

A wonderful standard black colt who is stunning.

He is well put together as well as being very eye-catching.

The absolute best bit, in my book, is that this colt landed on the ground instantly tame.  Even I got a nose kissey/snog on Day 1, which made my heart melt and now I am wondering how I can sneak him away in a camera bag while no one notices.

he has perfect whiskers.

And look he tölts!  Such a clever lad.

Oof, this is a darling little black colt.

So divine and so utterly perfect.

I think I am truly in love.

Bjorn of Bergli Stud said that another foal had arrived.

So excited, Floss and I went over to ooh and aah at their new arrival.

On our way, we were greeted by their first foal, who is deliciousness in a skewbald fur coat.

A very smart little girl.  Very smart, indeed. Precious heaven.

The new arrival was in the shed with his mum as last night was wild weather and no on,e who is due to foal, should be outside suffering.

This morning a darling little chestnut boy had arrived.  Clever Mum.

Hedelunds Puk, his mother, is a very friendly mare and Floss enjoyed chatting with her and telling her just how brilliant she was to produce this dear little boy.

Nose kisseys were exchanged.

Little Miniature Himself is brand new so he will take a few days to unravel.  Floss and I  luffs foals and I had to prise her away.

Afterwards, we went into our stable to sit with The Minions and The Boysenberries.  I had let the Minions out earlier in case they wanted a rest from the previous weather.

Also, yesterday, my GP put me on some new painkillers for my back, which is behaving very badly.  One of the side effects is that I feel very tired.  The other is that I itch like a “itching like a man on a fuzzy tree”.  Gah!

So I grabbed Delia’s stable rug and curled up to sleep, resting my head on Lambie.   He is very used to this as, when he was a little Lambie, we used to go to sleep together on the sofa.   Lambie makes the perfectly behaved pillow.

Ster played with Storm and Tiddles. There is no malice from any of them.  All the best of friends.

It was a peaceful afternoon.  I was very tired, for no other reason but these pills.

I trust my Minions and my Boysens.  They are happy to go to sleep with me and it was all very peaceful.

Zzzzzzz……… scratch, scratch …… Zzzzzzz……… scratch, scratch …… Zzzzzzz……… scratch, scratch …… Zzzzzzz……… scratch, scratch …… Zzzzzzz……… scratch, scratch …… Zzzzzzz……… scratch, scratch ……

Floss is still working hard with Taktur on his exercise regime.

The Minions are always eager to help, encourage and generally get in the way.

Waffle in particular – he sees Taktur as his mini-me.

After Taktur’s 20 minute exercise in walk, it was then Kappi’s turn.

I have been asked to free-lunge Kappi in the indoor school for 20 minutes.  This is to get him fitter and perhaps thinner (we can only hope).

Today, there were little helpers.

Poor Kappi – they were not so much helping, as getting in the way.

But 20 minutes of escaping from an enthusiastic Minion, is still exercise by anyone’s definition!

I think Taktur and Kappi were very glad, if not relieved, to get back to their own field away from the small fuzzy folk..

Lambie and Gwynnie – they are one.

Kale – it is the way forward……

….. for all your nutritional needs.

I was delivered a bag of mixed Kale by Transition Turrifield and, while Lambie accosted them, they told me that kale was very popular with sheeps.

So I thought I would try Lambie and ‘Ster out (‘Ster was not keen).

But Lambie loved it.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Lambie could be twins. It is uncanny – the likeness and everything!

Lambie thought this was the most fab veg ever and Lambie is very fussy.  Believe me, he eats the peas first in his sheep mix and refuses to eat anything that has been dropped on the ground (possibly royalty?  I do wonder sometimes).

Lambie and ‘Ster listened carefully while I told them all about the nutritional benefits of kale, though ‘Ster saw it as a fashion accessory rather than eat it.

But they took it all onboard.

I might have to buy Lambie a bag for his first birthday – 24th April, if you are wondering.

So you know, Lambie also likes Gordon’s gin and See’s chocolate (california brittle and the peanut one) if you are struggling with what to get him!
