Vaccinations

My Covid and flu vaccinations passed me by. I stupidly missed my appointment and so had to grovel and make another, which this time was in town and much further away than the original.

So after morning chores, I had a quick breakfast and told Monster we would not have our usual morning conversation over the breakfast table – he was not impressed – and I rushed off to town.

I drove off knowing everyone was where they should be and they all had everything they wanted (well, mostly).

I am not a huge fan of injections but I know it is important that I have it done. Covid is rife and I really do not ever want flu again.  I had it once and it wiped me out.  The test of flu, by the way, is if there is a £50 note in the garden, would you be able to go and get it.  If you couldn’t, then you definitely have flu.  If you could, then it’s a cold so get over yourself!

After, I bought every bag of horse food I could find and a round bale of hay because apparently there is snow and a storm is looming at the end of the week.  I am not looking forward to that but want to be prepared.

Home and someone was resentful I hadn’t taken her!  I have a stonking headache now, which I was warned might happen. Meh.

Love your flu test! Glad you got the shots, better than getting sick. I got one but have 2 more to go, getting them all at once is too much for my system. Hope this coming storm isn’t too bad.

    Post-vaccination headache – yuk.

Hope you are feeling better tomorrow and that the ghastly weather forecast is being overly pessimistic.

I space my shots out. Covid first. Flu later this month – that way I have good immunity come Feb/Mar when flu hits my area. Plus the 1 time I did both, i was sick for 3 days. Nope, not doing that again.

Hope the headache soon passes. I’m going to remember the definition of having the flu, and will delight in passing it on. On another subject, I’ve just rewatched the tv series Shetland, and wondered how locals like you viewed it. So many murders and no sign of stormy weather and cold miserable days.

I had one in each arm end of September. It was warm, but there was a lot of something going around town. even though I don’t get out much, I do grocery shopping and a few other errands regularly. Grocery has a pharmacy and that’s where I get my vaccinations. They had a coupon for $15 for next grocery shopping (electronic coupon) if you got 2 at the same visit. So I had 2 sore arms for a day or 2. So far so good.
Hope you get better Frances and that Monster forgives you for skipping your morning chat.

Great work! Scheduled the same 2@a time for next week. Like you, want to avoid another bout of the ‘vid or flu. Photos have been inspiring!

I’m glad you’ve been able to get your jabs. I’ve had mine but fortunately the surgery did them at separate times so the effects were not too bad at all. I’m taking everything going, thanks to the scientists who have developed them.

I had mine separately this year and using the on line booking form, but the nurse told me that most people had them together and there was no evidence that that caused side effects.

Well, I dispute the nurse. I still feel like crap. Sore arms too. Wish I could have had them separately but was not offered that.
