Naughty Pepper

A Bit of a Day

It’s been a bit of a day here today. Hard work. A struggle.

But every morning Floss and I take Tedward out for his walk and yesterday a large buck roe deer ran across our path, which was fairly amazing.

He then stopped in the “rough” and looked at us.

After a while the buck vanished into the wood.  You can just make out his target bottom.

This morning we didn’t see anyone.

Just the full moon.

Anyway, forgive the useless blog. I am just finding things difficult.  The early morning walk is very good for us, especially me at the moment.

Family Trip

From Daisy…..

Today Pepper and Monster went to see the vet – for different reasons.

Pepper had her second vaccination boosters while Monster was going in for the day – he needed an x-ray as he has chronic asthma.  We needed an official diagnosis plus a treatment plan.

Daisy and OH took them in together.  Pepper has put on a whole kilo since her last visit, so that’s good. She has discovered food now (everyone’s) and has a very healthy appetite, which is one thing less for me to worry about.

Monster stayed at the vet for the day, starving (we had visions of him eating the entire surgery staff) but apparently he was very good and well-beahved.  Pepper happily welcomed her best friend home.

Meanwhile Monster welcomed the thought of his supper, previous breakfast (all two), lunch and tea!  He missed them very much.

They are a happy, if odd, little couple.

Daisy also sent me this video. The first thing I said out loud was “that cat is a ruddy saint”!

Very Tired

A bit of a struggle today. I am feeling totally shattered so I will just leave these photos here.  After a long hospital visit in the morning/afternoon, I walked around the garden with my “new” camera which I have thoroughly ignored these past few months preferring my easy camera phone.

But I am determined to get to grips with this proper little camera while I am living here and even brough the manual with me to read.  A chapter a day, I tell myself.

It’s on my To Do list.

Worrying Day

Today, I mostly spent the day worrying but everything is ok now. Not great, but ok.

Also, last week the septic tank to the house packed up so Floss and I have been living in a state of filth, trying to use minimal water until the tanker came today to empty it.

I have never been so pleased to see “the scent bottle” as it has always been known in this house!

A nice man came with it and he was very helpful and reassuring.

Luckily, and there was a bit of a panic, he had enough hoses for the job.

I had also been worrying about that since booking him last week as I have no idea what 50 metres looks like (I ended up saying just bring as many hoses as you can fit on your lorry!)

This afternoon, for a change of scenery, Floss and I went to the local garden centre and shop.

It was nice to get out.

Christmas appeared to have arrived in full force.  I could not feel less Christmassy if I tried.

Still, I am really looking forward to a bath tonight and some clean clothes.
