Farrier Today

We spent our morning getting everyone in the right place for our impending farrier visit today. The old men were unimpressed with their holding pen. Tough.

We put the Minions in the stable.

Havoc was wreaked…..

…. as well as revenge (Storm, No!)

Pepper spent her day going round making friends.

And the bad news.  Tiddles has hoof capsule rotation (last year’s laminitis and now soft ground have not helped).  He has to live on hard-standing for a while for everything to sort itself out after the trim.  But now all his hooves have been remedially trimmed, Tiddles is much happier.  Painkillers have helped as well.  We will inter-change his companion.

Today it is Albie who has drawn the short-straw.  He is not thrilled but they will all take it in turns.  Meanwhile poor, poor Tiddles.  Off we go again.

Lots of sympathy re Tiddles. My little pony has very slight pedal bone rotation but of more concern, he has very slight arthritic changes to the tip of one pedal bone. Vet wants him to have remedial shoes. So frustrating! I hope Tiddles make swift progress.

So sorry about your Tiddles. Here too we are having a problems with our little Riddle, a Chincoteague pony. she had what seemed a minor, superficial cut on her left hind leg which seems to have turned into chronic swelling. Next step is Xrays. My sympathies and healing thoughts.

I send healing thoughts for all Hoomans and equines. With teeth floating and now hoof trimming, you are getting the “kids” ready for winter. Good for you. Having animals is never easy but always rewarding. Lovey nosey kisses, admiring and thank you looks in sheeples eyes, happy vocalization of ducks and chickens, Of course happy tail wags as the dogs go off on adventures. Yes even Monster, he was concerned enough to keep you warm while trying to help you recuperate . I guess that is what they joke about having a CAT scan.
Sending warm wishes across the pond?
We actually are having some rain (maybe 8 oz) but we don’t pass up any moisture. It has made the day nice cool and overcast. A wonderful respite from the heat. Hope the weather person is right and we get a good soaking ( that would be 1-2 inches) tonight.
