Sitting with Sheep

Pepper will talk to anyone.  She loves everyone.  No exception, though they might not love her.

Later on in the morning, I took the dogs out for a walk. It was very windy but sunny.

In the huge field, we found all the sheep sitting or grazing together.  All nine.

Of course Dahlia and Gus-Gus came racing over.

I found a suitable bottom-shaped rock and sat down to chat to anyone who wanted to come up.

Even Lambie came and talked to me (is it my birthday? I don’t think so).  I was very surprised.

Pepper was close by while Ted stayed a little way away.  He is sensible.

Dahlia was not kind to Pepper.

But I love this.  Pepper deliberately afterwards went to sit by Lambie – I think she felt safe next to him.

I love how Lambie doesn’t mind Pepper either and no, Lambie is not going to abort (a bloody miracle if he is in lamb), and yes, it is my land and yes, they are my sheep – if you are wondering and about to criticise me – the internet trolls, sorry experts, are out there, loud and proud.

Gussie, who always wears his food, followed us on this dogwalk.  Dahlia also came too.

It was nice to spend time with the sheep.  Winter prevents this as everything is too wet to sit on.

I am so fed up of trolls.  Perhaps they will stop guarding their rickety bridge.

The very last picture, of Gussie in profile, looks so similar to a buffalo!! Thanks for another batch of wonderful photos.

Trolls can go rot. Love how Pepper hangs with Lambie, BFF for sure. And dear Gussie and his ever changing accessories of straw. Very stylish.

Wonderful pictures! I’m so glad Dahlia and Gussie have become part of the flock. Don’t worry about the trolls; I expect they can’t help it.

Re the sheep all being together, was it a case of your herd accepting the hill sheep or vice versa?
Not all of us are dressed to the nines and attending Oscar premieres. I love my wee life and sharing in yours. You are perfect just the way you are and by the way, your photography and accompanying banter is absolutely what I love so please keep it up.

I can’t think of anything better than quality time outside with a variety of animals. You are so lucky to have your varied flock and they are lucky to have you. And your photos are always gorgeous! I look forward to your blog every day, and tell my friends about it too.

Just want to say: don’t let the FB trolls get you down!! FB is a cesspool, that I left long ago. I get that it’s still a very viable tool for business promotion, etc., but the most important thing to remember is that there will always be the trolls, and you should ignore them as much as possible.

Your work there is incredible, and your photos even more so! (I, for one, am very glad you chose to keep your ‘big’ camera. The iPhone is great to have in your pocket, but a ‘real’ camera is invaluable when you want to capture the best possible image(s).

Keep up all your great work!!

    Seeing little Pepper interacting with everyone is so dear. I am not sure that there is a solution to wretched trolls, but I think that besides being cyber bullies, that they are cowards who try to bolster their weak little egos by spreading their anonymous acrimonious thoughts. I think Pepper is reminding us that we need to spread happiness, no matter what; life is just too precious to waste it in spreading negativity. The testament to Pepper is how the others respond to her with a few naysayers (‘cough’ Dahlia), but I still hope to be a Pepper in this life. Spread the love little Pepper!;-}

for years I have looked forward to my daily dose of Shetland. I can’t even remember how I discovered you. I only miss when I am away. I simply can not understand why some are deliberately mean.

Your picture of Pepper having a chat with Lambie is quite lovely, gorgeous start to my day.

As others have said before me, you are my daily dose of wonderful. Even when things are tough with animal health you still face it all with love, determination and a spirit that never gives up.

Internet trolls? Weak, sad people who probably have little agency in their own lives and are lashing out at anything, anywhere. They are bullies. Who said “Living well is the best revenge?”

So, my life is just fine, but getting my morning fix to live vicariously through yours, with all your critters, on Shetland is the best part of my day. It would never even dawn on me to question what you are doing.
