Computers – Gah!

It has taken me two whole days to set up a MacBook Air (not mine sadly) and get it to talk to a printer, wirelessly.  I don’t want to discuss it but suffice it to say it now works.

It has also been no weather for riding either and I haven’t had time to take my camera out and about with me because I haven’t been out and about.  If I get given a task, I cannot deviate or do anything else until it is complete.

In the meantime, Daisy has taken these photos on her travels, which are enchanting in their own right.

She found BeAnne and Mr Ducky-Wucky together under the horsevan.

When Daisy was checking the Minions, she found a small hippo was living in the field.

Luckily for Daisy the small hippo ignored her and continued eating.

Vampire cat or Monster. You decide.

I am off to sit in a dark room now.  Tomorrow is another day.

Shout and see who comes

Sometimes, just sometimes, a small little Patterdale terrier who is used to “hearing her own voices” (as my neighbour used to say about her) will come when she is called.  It is fairly rare, though.

But when she hears my voice, there is such lovely enthusiasm.

As well as marvellous ears doing their own thing!

Missy is another.  She is obedient (again, when she wants to) and also now a not-so-little lamb.

A girl on a mission.

And she always has a purpose – doesn’t she look grown up these days.

Kappi will arrive if he thinks there is a calorific involvement.  He is very food motivated (especially for Krispy Kreme doughnuts when on the oval track – well, we all are!)

Efstur just likes attention.  He pops up everywhere and has a beautiful smile with dishy eyes.

Lambie will come when he’s called. He galumphs to me, usually with ‘Bert and ‘Ster in tow.

The Winning Smile will appear if he thinks I have biccies about my person.

A lack of biccies can result in him following me home until I give in, find a packet and fairly distribute.

So be careful who you shout for, because someone might turn up demanding rewards!

Low Calorie Love

There will be no more carrots and/or snacks for the Minions in the foreseeable future.

From henceforth just low calorie hugs ….

…. and calorie-free kisses.

Grass only.

Yes, these are the new Minion Rules.

People are not to be munched.

and noses will obviously be tickled.

And diversions do not mean anyone can go through pocketses!

Or hair. There is no food in hair!

Thems are the new Rules and they will be abided by at all times, please.

Ok, pretty please xx

I am not hopeful.

Much Galloping

So this was the scene when Floss opened the gate a few day’s back.  To a horse, they all ran into their new field.

…… or delicately gallumphed if I am being honest.

Four little fat bottoms.

And the other four little fat bottoms (Lilja and Sóley were floating around the field somewhere looking like supermodels).

Then suddenly to a horse, they all turned round and galloped in the other direction.

“The wind up their tails” is the expression.

It was wonderful to watch.

At one stage I had all ten galloping straight towards me.  There was a brief moment when I thought should I move, but decided this was an unwise strategy and I watched as they galloped past, with Newt coming up for a brief kiss/hug!

And then, exhausted (or fat and very unfit), the herd all stopped suddenly and started stuffing their faces.

They haven’t lifted their heads since!

Sóley Flies

Obviously everything Lilja does, Sóley has to copy because Lilja is her big sister and that’s what little sisters do.

Copying her beautiful older sister is not always easy.

It takes some skill.

But like all work-in-progress, practice is the answer.

Lots and lots of practice.

According to K. Anders Ericsson, a psychologist, (and the theory was later popularised by Malcom Gladwell), it takes 10,000 hours to become world-class at anything. That’s just 416 full days.

I think Sóley is nearly there now.  I love watching her run.

And there you are – Sóley is beautiful too, like Lilja.  She is flying.

Tomorrow, it is the Minion’s turn with the photos.  Think more functional than aesthetic!
