Home So Very Sweet Home

I have had a wonderful peaceful day doing very little while slowly reacquainting myself with my life.

The past ten days have been rough, very rough and I am sorry for not writing the blog but at the end of the day I was just too exhausted to do anything but eat supper, shower and go to bed.  My life was very basic and there was no joy.  I decided silence was the better option than endlessly whining on about the mammoth task we had.

Anywho, here I am back and almost ready for action.  I had a rest this afternoon.

This morning I went to see the Minions, and also to feed the old ladies. It was therapy for me and I left with a smile on my face, giggling about just how silly they all are. I also hugged everyone whether they wanted to be hugged or not.

Once home, I gathered in all the haynets ready to be filled later. Haakon and his friends were pleased to see me.

But, best of all, Lambie let me hug him….. twice. A miracle. Earlier Maggie had come racing up to me to say hello, which was sweet.

Dear ‘Ster was around too.

Home sweet home.

Did it – Home!

An early start in case of Heathrow chaos, but it wasn’t too bad.

I took a photo of my bag this time because these past few flights have resulted in it not coming with me.

So, with some extra time, I mooched around the shops. Purely window shopping.

And then we flew to Edinburgh.

A bit of a mooch around there too and then the flight home to Sumburgh.

This is the best view, ever in my opinion.

A long drive home, a wonderful supper cooked by Floss and I am relaxing……sort of.

My day of rest

Tomorrow I fly south so today I had my first real day off from everything. After a quick shop for provisions with my sister, (I am currently staying with her in London), I then offered to supervise outdoor playtime for their cat, Poppet, who is terrorised by the large neighbourhood cats.

Armed with my water gun, I sat in their lovely garden and soaked up the peace and quiet of not having to do anything all day. It was bliss.

And, of course, I took some photos.

Tomorrow I will do battle with British Airways who are cancelling flights left, right and centre.  Wish me luck or maybe wish them luck. My mood is not great for tolerating idiots, especially flight cancelling ones.

Finished!

Well, we’re out of there. All sorted, packed and done.  We are all totally exhausted.

I shall miss this house, I lived in it from 1969 – 1981 and then visited my mother and step-father there afterwards.  It was sad when we did the last check, lock up and left.

I am in London until Monday morning when I can fly back to Shetland, though British Airways are not looking hopeful.

I need to sleep for a week.

Getting there

I will just briefly touch base here.  I am still alive, we are getting there and nearly at the end.  Suffice it to say we are on our third skip!
