What to do? (again!)

So…. what to do?

The boys want out… mostly Waffle, Tiddles and Storm who are now looking pretty much ok.

Tiddles is walking so much better – remember, he had a rotating hoof capsule (farrier diagnosis) after laminitis  last year.

And then Storm was walking badly, all pottery – early laminitis?

As was Waffle…. again very pottery.

And then Albie was beyond ghastly – ready to die – but now doing so much better but definitely out of the woods.

The thing is, Albie is being picked on especially by Tiddles who is fed up and looking for a fight. We have had words about this attitude.

But, they must stay in for at least one month….. Poor Albie.  I don’t know what to do. I feel sorry for him but it is far too early (lulled into false sense of security, I know) to let them out.

Potential Album Cover

The blog today is a total cop-out.

After my daily horse/pony check, I came home and cleared some wood from one of the sheds and my back is paying for it now.  I am in pain and feeling very tetchy.  Painkillers are not cutting it.  Not even slightly. I hurt therefore I am.

So here are my photos of the sheep that could be a potential album cover if anyone needed.  Please do say if you want.

And one of my little not-so-precious…. (she was returned by a neighbour – oh, the shame).

And her friend (who was not).

Sorry this is brief but I am in that awful state of don’t-know-what-to-do-with-myself-because-I-hurt-so-much stage and I can’t take any mind-altering painkillers until later tonight, when I have tucked up the Minions in their stable for the night otherwise I won’t reach their stable!

Hopefully it will all calm down by tomorrow.

Klængur – What to Do

A little known fact – I have given up riding. It was killing my back. It has taken me a while to get my head around this, hence why I said nothing.

And Klængur is in “Fat Camp” at my neighbour’s to lose weight.

It was needed.  He was dangerously large but is getting less so, now.  I am grateful for this intervention.

Klængur will probably come home in November.

And then what?  I am not sure.  I will do my best to keep the weight off, but it won’t be from riding, more less intake (he can live in the Minion’s wee park, if necessary, sans Minions).  Yes, I feel bad that I am not riding Klængur anymore but, to be perfectly honest, my back is so much better from not riding and I don’t have his saddle anymore either (Daisy wanted it for Efstur).

I don’t think the Ginger Ninja is missing this riding thing.  I sort of do missing riding and, if Haakon was 100%, I would happily hop on but Klængur spooks at grass that looked at him a funny way and that makes things stressful and we all suffer.

We’ll see….. Never say never.

Stable Arguments

When I saw this, I instantly thought….
♫♫ Three little maids from school are we….. ♫♫
and it now my earworm for the day, even though I don’t know all the words!

Waffle tried to steal Tiddles’ food! *** sigh ***.

Now, I always leave Albie on his own as he is easily bullied off his food and is happy to give up.

The boys are checked regularly and this afternoon, I went to the stable and the family followed.  Ted is not allowed in the stable as he wee’s on hay and, at over £6.50 a bale, that is heinous crime in my book.

No one minds “the family”.  I guess they are used to our little ways (read “odd”).

That was until Monster decided the stable was an ideal place to have a wee. In his defence, it was raining outside.

Albie was fascinated by this!

… as was Storm.  And so Monster left in high dudgeon and we all laughed.

Everyone wants out.  Waffle and Storm especially.  They bicker all the time now and annoy each other. Good signs.

Sorry, guys, it’s not happening even though you are feeling a bit better.

And so revenge is wearing all the bedding.  I brush the ponies daily.  It really makes no difference but I am glad they are all feeling and looking better.  We are not out of the woods, by any means, but things are improving.

Give us a Carrot!

Iacs and Haakon (L-R): “Give us a carrot!”
Me: Ok, but I am feeding them to the sheep too. The sheep like carrots as well.

Haakon:  This is something I don’t understand. Why do sheep like carrots?
Iacs: Never waste carrots on sheep.  That’s just plain wrong.

Iacs and Haakon: So go, on give us a carrot!

Iacs:  Or else….

Haakon: No, no, Iacs, that’s not the way to do it.

Haakon: Charm. You’ve got to use charm.  It will get all the carrots in the world.  Watch me.  Pretty please!”

Me:  Of course, I insist you have all my carrots.  The sheep will obviously have no more.

Iacs and Haakon: And quite right too……. by the way, a few Mrs Pasture cookies wouldn’t go amiss either!  Just sayin.

So obviously I went back inside the house and brought out my last bag – two cookies each was the ration.

And here are a couple of pics from my travels.
