Give me Strength!

Apologies for radio silence yesterday.  There was an unexpected hospital-type emergency which is still ongoing.

Anyway, my morning started as it meant to …… ie, badly.

  • I could only find 5 sheep – Maggie was missing.  Dahlia and Gussie had vanished too.
  • ‘Bert and Barrell were at war and wouldn’t go into the sheep shed for breakfast as they were too busy beating the crap out of each other.
  • Pepper vanished.

So I ignored all of that and continued as normal hoping I wouldn’t find any other awful messes along my way.

  • I decided I would find Maggie et al on the dog walk later.
  • I gave Bert and Barrell their breakfast anyway and noticed someone ate it as the bowls were empty later. I also gave both of them free-rein with the TurmerAid box in the hope they would be too drugged/relaxed up to fight! I hate it when there are arguments in the flock.
  • Pepper turned up, just I was about to find the car keys and go round all the neighbours apologising.

My day continued in this disastrous theme when I broke the washing machine and Monster’s timer bowl (for his very early morning snack).  At that stage I just decided I would not react to anything the world was going to throw at me.

Later, on the dog walk, I found Maggie who was in the wrong field (just why?) I brought her home and she very gratefully rejoined the others. Dahlia and Gussie were at the furthest point of the field possibly gazing at a newly arrived hill-ram. I gave them the breakfast I had brought so I knew they were moving and eating fine.  Oh, yes and then it started to rain and I got home totally soaked through to the skin.

And then I discovered my Advent Calendar, which I thought I had been so clever about was showing all the pictures despite me trying to only show the one for the right date like a paper advent calendar.  Hopefully I’ve put a stop to that and I hope no one’s peaked.

Give me strength!

Oh no, sounds like a pile-up in the highway! That’s way too much to deal with for one day. Glad you found all the animals and that they’re ok. Hoping your hospital emergency resolves as easily as possible – it’s a human thing, not an animal thing, yes? Are you and OH ok? Sending warm well wishes that you all feel better soon and that you can get the various machines fixed.

Oh my goodness … A lot and more going on. The photo of the sky, birds and clouds is amazing. Nicely captured! Looking at it elevates my spirit. Take another look at it and perhaps you can find some relief/comfort. Sending good thoughts to Thoredale. Peace, Debbie. (Another great advent pic, too)

Your Advent calendar is a delight! If anyone sneaked ahead, shame on them! It spoils the purpose for them, not the designer. As much as it was the pits yesterday, maybe the way is cleared for harmony & happiness for the next month. To support a national concern, I got an online Advent calendar & spent last night in a loop ‘You cannot open the calendar until you sign in’; then. “Open the calendar”; ‘You cannot open the calendar until you sign in’; ‘Open the calendar’…My first thought is always, ‘How did I break this’ because I am not the Queen of Cyber Space, but I decided to go back to yours because I could open your Advent Calendar. So thank you for designing the calendar in such a way that I do not have to have a degree in programming to enjoy a lovely season’s daily surprise.

I think your Advent calendar is wonderful. And yes, I did have a sneaky peak at the next day, only to find I was giving myself a metaphorical slap on the wrist and desisted so as not to spoil the surprises. It seems to be right today.

Hello, Frances. Thank you again for the photos of your beautiful livestock and your picturesque landscape and croft. And now also your bright and timely Advent Calendar, and your helpful and informative narratives that illustrate your own goings’ on, and the hard work and daily puzzles that you solve for your “critturs”.
    Seasons warmest greetings, David

    Hi Frances,
I have a ten year old friend staying with me while her parents are away. She can’t wait every day to open the next window of the advent calendar….She loves it more than the chocolates in the other…..And we are now reading your daily post together & she loves that too. She asked this morning if you were going to be grumpy again today. I told her that she has to wait until she gets home. She is a fan of your grumpy….

We are grateful for your grumpy, so thank you!!!
