Duckling Update

We still have 11 ducklings and Ducky-Mum still hates my guts!  She is fairly scary.

But as the ducklings are getting bigger, Mum is getting better about letting them out from under her wings. They also probably don’t fit very easily now either. They are getting much bigger.

The shed is proving a very good nursery and I may be wrong, but there might be more, as some of the female ducks have mysteriously disappeared.

So twice daily food, and clean water. Daisy said the ducklings were learning to paddle when she was on duck duty.  How divine and of course I missed it.

Meanwhile, in Monster’s world, he is very busy too.

In his own way.

He misses BeAnne desperately. I can see that. He even comes out to sit with the sheep with me.  I feel for him. I really do.

His life has little motivation (as does mine). ❤️

I lost my 16 1/2 year old little terrier crossbreed two weeks ago tomorrow. I am totally broken. Miss her so much

I saw some previous photos of Monster hanging out near the sheep, and I wondered if he was missing BeAnn. Hopefully, having other animals around will help a little…

P.S. Love the pinkish/purple duck beaks.

Yes, I know that animals as well as people, miss their critter companions so much when they leave us. do you think you will ever get another little dog? Another question I have is…..did Harrel the barrel ever discover his mother???
The ducklings are so darling….much prettier than the mother duck. Will they end up looking like her?

Yes they will. They are pure Muscovites.

And yes, Harrel has found his mum. He is happy and silent!

Glad to hear you still have all the duckling even if DuckyMom disapproves of you.
Poor Monster! Proof that animals do mourn losses in their pack.
