A lovely quiet day finishing food up (soup and more soup) and not thinking about much. I am now the proud owner of a new improved larger muck heap too – there will be photos tomorrow of this memorable edifice.
Just how I like my Boxing Day. Perfect.
And we watched an Indiana Jones’ film all afternoon, eating Christmas biccies and drinking tea.
Ah a quiet day in the holidays is the BEST GIFT EVER. Enjoy the bicccies and tea.
Hope the weather cooperates and you all can get in some You/Me time. Of course there are always critter chores. We were greeted by sandhill cranes this morning waiting for breakfast, Ravens and crows that came down from the mountains to the warmer ? (I think not) valley. . Mallard duck pairs sizing up each other in preparation for finding a mate for Late Feb. March breeding. We had to break 2 inch think ice in the tanks this morning, but the Canada geese love to take a dip and swim among the ice flows !! BURRR then they get out and rest/sleep on their feets. Neighbor got a new Burro from Santa. It is pretty noisy, probably lonely for a companion, since they are herd animals. Hopefully a mate or horse might join it so there is a friend. My husband just shakes his head and says in our ” less young” years we will not be revisiting our equine ownership days. !!
Our afternoon might be some tea and soup, and my fav movie from the 80s “A Christmas Without Snow.” good character interpersonal relations, community coming together on projects, and great music. since it is OLD probably have to rent it.
Happy Boxing Day to all.
