R.I.P. Storm

I am sitting here, not wanting to write this…

Rest in peace, Storm.  Sleep well.  I am so sorry – I feel like I failed you horribly.

(I left him last night, inside, nibbling on a haynet, considering a bucket but he died overnight).

❤️ Storm  (2013 to 2024) ❤️
Forever in our hearts.
Run free, and don’t forget to buck a lot while you create chaos.

Bless you Frances, you care for all your ponies so very well, always thinking, and agonising over their welfare. Hurts like hell when you loose one and that goes with the joy of having know and loved them. Huge hugs.

Oh goodness I’m so so sorry to read this. Storm had a wonderful life with you. He’s out of pain and running free over Rainbow Bridge to meet up with his pals. You did your very best for him, no-one could have given more. From the scrappy little chap that arrived you gave him the best in life, care, friends and above all love and attention he craved and thrived on. Don’t be too hard on yourself Storm loved everything about you xx Thoughts are with you xx

You must be feeling very sad and it’s natural to feel you have failed in some way but I am certain you have not. He probably died in his sleep and that’s the best way to go. Sending lots of love and prayers for you and your family. xxxx

I’m so terribly sorry to hear this. I know, from experience, the thought-spirals that can happen at a time like this….and I also know that I have never seen such beloved and cared-for, doted-upon and cherished ponies in all my years. You did everything you could and it was simply his time to move on. Sending love your way…be gentle with yourself. xo

If we only would have comforting words to give each other in our grief, but when tragedy strikes, I’m not sure mere words can express what we feel & how those feelings can help to heal one another. This week, we have thought a good deal about grieving as we lost our beloved retriever of sixteen years. I just keep thinking is the scarecrow’s line from the Wizard of Oz when he is saying good-bye to Dorothy, ‘I know that I have a heart because it’s breaking right now.’ The comfort that we feel comes from the love that our fuzzy four foot family members have given us in their time with us. Love heals in time, but because it is so deep, it does take time when the one who gave us that love departs. We are thinking of you at this time.

My condolences on the loss of Storm. You love all your animals so much.
I’ll be in Shetland with a friend 1/26-1/31, hope to get out your way. Happy to lend you a hand with your chores.

This is just heartbreaking. But you rescued that little guy at a time when he really needed help, and gave him the best life possible. We are all mourning your loss but know that everything was done that could be done to help Storm, and he knew to the end that you loved him. We will always remember that sweet and sassy little fellow. Take care of yourself, Frances.

Oh Francis, I am so sorry to hear this news. You gave Storm a wonderful life, full of love and cuddles and nosey kisses. His passing was probably when and where he wanted, but what a gut punch. Major hugs from me. Little Miss Maine Coon is sending very quiet purrs your way.
