Have you been wondering about Taktur and how he is getting on?

Well, he has been ridden and trained regularly since the beginning of this year.

Canter – he finds it very difficult to keep his balance in the school – he is 100 times better outside.  Much more elevation.

And then we put a stang (Stangir) or Icelandic curb bit on for the first time (as well as weighted front boots, which he is used to).  This is a training aid and will not worn regularly.

And Rest and stretch with long reins coz Taktur has worked very hard and been wonderful.

I love this superb horse.  He is awesome – the very definition of that over-used word.

Daisy, Floss and I, along with Loki and BeAnne, went to the beach for a dog walk.   We haven’t been for ages and were in the area, de-lousing Lyra.

We all enjoy the beach.  No, really.  This is BeAnne’s “I wanted to swim, but it is a bit freezing” face!

I don’t blame her.  No one else was in the water.  Not even the seals.  Still, the sea was a lovely colour.

So we walked up and down the beach and yes, BeAnne is on her spring pre-bikini diet, as she has enjoyed the winter a bit too much, so calories were burned.

Daisy and Floss held the dogs while I walked away, turned and called them to me. They raced and I took these photos.  I love their faces and their ears.  Loki is much faster than BeAnne (that would be the greyhound in him).  He runs effortlessly, while BeAnne runs with huge concentration to get to me.

I think this is my favourite photo as they are both in sync together.

Daisy has gone back now and it was the best Spring break ever!

Last day for Daisy (back to her work tomorrow and on the crack o’sparrows flight) and she rode Taktur, her Icelandic stallion, in the indoor school.

Quotes from his rider:

“He is lots of fun”.

“He is much lighter in his tölt.”

“His trot is still amazing.”

“It is very powerful.”

“His left side (anti-clockwise) is his weakest side.”

“And now we are both knackered.”

“I still love him.”

It was nice to watch Daisy and Taktur together.  They will make a good team.

It is lovely seeing Daisy riding Iacs again.

She put him through his paces and announced he was 100% fine – both mentally and physically.

Just the same Bimble she had grown up with.

Meanwhile, two little naughty Minions had sneaked into the indoor school to play!

They didn’t care that Iacs was being put through a rigorous schooling session by Daisy.

Oh no, there were much better games to be played.

So Iacs and Daisy did their level best to ignore the little diversions.

The get-in-the-way game resulted in Iacs and Daisy doing endless shallow loops around the shenanigans

They flew around with the wind in their hair…..

…. until there were two small obstructions.

The Minions did their best to divert Iacs.

When they failed, they went on to annoy Flossie and to sit on her instead.

Iacs worked well. We are all very relieved he is back to his original factory default settings.

I shall now stop worrying about him.

Yes, she came cantering up the minute she spied who she spied walking towards her in the field.

And that was it.

“Hello?”

“Did you  miss me?”

“Do you remember me?”

“Are you sure?”

“Because I missed you.”

“And to prove it, I wouldn’t let anyone catch me!”

“This is what happens when you go away.”

“I have hardly eaten a thing and I become feral.”

Meanwhile, Flossie was having her own “problems” with a different pony ….

She tried being tough….

But it is this coat – apparently it is edible!

Anyway, I think Lyra was pleased to see her Daisy.
