Weather or Not

Well, the wind has blown while rain/sleet/snow has been hurled at us in varying degrees of ferocity and we are now coming out the other side of this particular winter storm.

All the horses came in this morning for double rations of hay and a hard feed of mostly fibre.  Then, as they said they were bored, we chucked them all out again.  Who am I to argue?

I love this photo – everyone is standing facing one particular direction except for Efstur. He always has to be different!

I went and checked on everyone outwith Thordale – they were all fine and wondering why I was late with their grub.  Lilja was almost hopping up and down! I took some photos of the sea but they are not half as spectacular as I thought they were at the time. You had to be there.

The sheep did a runner into the hill at the first opportunity but assured me as they vanished, that they would be home for breakfast.  Their choice.  They know the set-up.  I am feeling a bit like a cross between meals-on-wheels and a cafeteria.  But that is how it always is this time of year.

So that’s us. We’ve come out of this storm, temperatures will rise again as the wind changes direction – a northerly this time of year is always particularly cruel.

Aunt Kate’s Diaries are going great guns.  She is in Brussels. It is 1897 and they have just seen Sarah Bernhardt! How cool is that?

At least Monster is warm and cozy. Sorry the ponies and sheeple are being weird. In New England we are bouncing between 33F and 53F with rain and sun changing places like a wild Contra Dance.

I am fascinated with the diaries of your (and possibly my own) Aunt Kate. I eagerly look forward to each installment. You are to be commended for taking on this labour of love. The recent limericks were hilarious, so I took the liberty of sharing them with other family members who are members of a Facebook group called “Addicted to Limericks.” Glad you are safely weathering the storm. Be assured that the sun will shine again!
