The sea gives perspective

Thank you Plusnet.  I am beginning to hate you.  Hours on the internet telling them and still, yes still we go on. Or we don’t.  It just stops.

Anywho, a few days ago, the dogs and I went for a walk on Sandness beach.

Walking on the beach, by myself, is always good for the soul.

BN2A5589

Some days I need to find my perspective.  Being by the sea always give me the answers.

So, of course, I took Darth Vader – my big Canon camera and snapped as I walked.

BeAnne and Loki enjoy the beach.  It is something different for them from their usual walks.

At the moment, my spine is not brilliant.

BN2A5606

It is a constant battle.  These are the latest results of an MRI scan.

L2-L3 slight bulge
L3-L4 total prolapse
L4-L5 minor bulge

Referral to Pain Clinic for epidural.
If that does not help, then ….

I am trying hard not to think about the final option.

BN2A5615

So, I walk and I think and I walk some more because walking does help.  The worst thing is that riding is starting to become painful and I mind that more than anything.

BeAnne, no matter what, is my constant companion.

Loki comes along for the ride.

While I was walking, I saw a flock, brace, raft, team or paddling of ducks in the sea.

BN2A5642

There was always one at the back. It was agonising to watch.  I told the duck family to get tail-end Charlie back or I would be forced to have to swim out and “save” him/her.

BN2A5649

And Phew!  They heard me.  Everyone was back together.

To be honest, I was not that keen on swimming!

If the final option is surgery on your spine , then it will work. I have had a re stabilisation done 2 years ago and I am glad I had it done. It got rid of the nerve pain you must be suffering. Epidurals didnt work on me. Love todays photos!

I had a “bulge” between L4-L5 and I understand *perfectly* the nerve pain – although you have what I had x3. Epidurals helped, as did walking and doing my back exercises religiously. And COLD compresses on my back were a lifesaver.
And I’ve personally known people who’ve had the surgery, and it’s been a great success for them.

In the meantime, take those ocean walks – they sound so healing for the spirit.
