The Glorious Twelfth

The “Glorious Twelfth” is my birthday as well as being the day the red grouse shooting season starts (I do not approve).  To this day, I have always believed that the Glorious Twelfth was named in honour of my birthday. I have yet to be dissuaded of this fact.

So, to celebrate my Glorious Twelfth, Daisy and I went riding, twice. First up, I rode Klængur, while Daisy rode Kappi. It was lovely and Klængur behaved beautifully (I am wondering whether he has recently been taken over by aliens).  Next up, we went out on Iacs and Hjalti.  All good.  We came home with huge smiles.

After lunch Floss and I went to visit the Minions. I took my big camera and we sat down.  We didn’t have to wait very long.

While Flossie was being loved, I snapped away.

I was trying to take photos of Silver and Albie walking through the little purple flowers.

Albie

Albie likes to walk towards with me with his ears flat back.  I have no idea why he does this.  It makes him look like he is about to savage me but I know Albie wouldn’t.  It is just his way.

I took a few arty-farty shots as well.  I’m not sure which one I like best – smiling or not smiling?

Everyone was in a very huggy mood.

While I was lying down taking photos of Albie and Silver, I looked behind me to find Waffle looming with purpose!

We drove home and apparently there is cake!

happy Birthday! I like the arty smiling picture. And perhaps Albie’s ears are back to hear interlopers approaching his Mum? Hope the cake was yummy.

Many glorious happy returns – and the smiley shot definitely. I have a nephew and a dear friend who are also celebrating today and they are as convinced as you about why today is Glorious
Waffle looks like he wants to help blow out the candles.
    Have a fabulous evening

What beautiful pictures and Happy Birthday – also my nephew’s.

My pro shooting mum (not that she ever did any) used to go on about the ‘Glorious Twelfth’ but never explained what it was until I was about 16 – I never asked as I think I sensed I wouldnt like the answer!

The happy shot – among the arty ones – looks great in my humble view.

    Many Happy Returns!
Lovely photos. I especially like the ones of Fivla, and Vitamin I love, as she’s so expressive. I think of her as kind, and I don’t know why.
Waffle is in a shampoo ad!
